Together, may we set our heart’s affection and mind’s attention on God’s purpose and plan for our mission.
HAITI PRAYER REQUESTS
Day 1:
Nation
Haiti has had increased instability due to gang activity since at least 2019 when we stopped sending monthly teams to Haiti. From time to time we hear of operations taking place to weed out the gangs and bring change. It seems that nothing has been enough and the Haitians have been functioning under a new normal of there always being possible danger close by. Pray for an end to the gang's stranglehold on the nation. Pray for a government to be put in place that will help stabilize the nation. Pray for those impacted physically, emotionally and financially by the instability. Pray that this long term national crisis would be used by God for His glory and purposes.
Day 2:
Churches/Pastors
The Haitian pastors have requested prayer for spiritual growth in their churches–in maturity and numbers. Pray for unity, humility, the fear of God, and holiness so that God’s work may move forward, that each church would impact the community for God’s glory. They’ve asked for greater faith and wisdom for leading.
Day 3:
Schools/Teachers
Pray that our schools would be examples of order and God’s peace and hope. Pray that the teachers and students would be faithful in the mundane and that God would give them joy in teaching and learning. Pray that the schools would faithfully proclaim the Gospel and also do their very best to educate the children. Pray for patience and perseverance.
Day 4:
Students
Pray that with each passing year there would be more students who choose to follow Jesus. Pray that the students would take the Gospel to their unbelieving families and those from families following Voodoo would be freed from demonic oppression. Pray that the students would not be hindered from succeeding and doing well in school due to the turmoil in the country. Pray that they would be healthy and strong to learn well and develop spiritually, socially, and mentally.
Day 5:
Construction/Maintenance
Construction and maintenance slowed way down for a number of years due to the difficulty of acquiring supplies as well as the other challenges present in the country now. Pray for wisdom to know how to make good headway to meet the needs of the mission. Pray that needed supplies would be available and for the safe delivery of them to the mission.
Day 6:
Safety
Many of the pastors asked for prayer for the safety of their churches, schools, and families. Pray that they would be free of fear and full of trust and courage but also have discernment to understand God’s guidance in their lives. Pray for the safety of teachers and students that travel on the treacherous roads to go to school. Pray for the safety of our construction crew and for safe deliveries of school food, containers, and supplies.
Day 7:
Opportunities for Graduates
Many former New Missions students and graduates have gone on for various types of training including university. Pray that God would place His vision in our students’ hearts and that He would open wide opportunities to fulfill that with education, employment, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Pray that the graduates would find great blessing in being faithful to God.
As we turn our attention to our mission in the Dominican Republic. Your prayers matter and we thank you for your faithfulness. Together, we are calling out to God for His provision.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PRAYER REQUESTS
Day 8:
Schools
We are grateful to the Lord for the salvation of over 30 students this past year! Please pray for these students as they deepen their relationship with God and as we guide them. Also, pray that God provides for the physical, financial, and spiritual needs of our teachers, enabling them to reach even more students for Christ.
Day 9:
Churches
We thank the Lord for the individuals who accepted Christ through our churches over the past year. We also celebrate our first-ever church-wide retreat, which was a tremendous blessing for many. Please continue to pray for spiritual growth in our congregations and for the unity of our church leaders.
Day 10:
Spiritual Growth of the Next Generation
Our youth groups in the DR are growing and are truly passionate about Christ! We are grateful for the teens who have recently come to faith. We ask for your prayers as we launch a new youth discipleship class at our high school. Please pray for our youth and children’s leaders, that they may have the strength and endurance to help the next generation deepen their walk with Christ.
Day 11:
Clinic
We are grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to offer free medical care to the people of Sosua and nearby communities. Many patients travel long distances to our health center because of the care and compassion they receive. Please pray that God continues to use us to reach those who are suffering and in need of medical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
Day 12:
Government
Please pray for the leaders who were elected and re-elected last year. Pray that they come to know Christ and prioritize the needs of their constituents over their own desires. Also, pray that corruption is exposed and put to an end.
Day 13:
Healing for Hispaniola
Tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic are running high as the government has increased deportations of Haitians. Please pray for healing in the relationship between these two nations, that God will soften the hearts of Dominicans and open their eyes to the racism present in the country. Pray that the governments of both countries will collaborate to improve the standard of living for both Haitians and Dominicans.
Day 14:
Mission Teams
We have several teams scheduled to visit this year, and we ask for your prayers for their safety during their travels. Pray that God uses their time with us to impact lives and draw more souls to Christ. May their efforts inspire hope and transformation in the communities they serve, and may they experience His presence in powerful ways throughout their time in the DR.
We want to express our gratitude for your prayers and support. Most importantly, this is a spiritual work we are called to. We pray God uses us to make a difference for eternity's sake.
US PRAYER REQUESTS
Day 15:
Home Office Team of New Missions
Daily, our home office team is ready to serve our donors and sponsors. Plus, we are dedicated to the vision of helping families flourish across Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Pray for our health, provision, and focus to encourage all whom God entrusts to us. “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us – so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” Psalm 67:1-2
Day 16:
Churches Everywhere
Pray for local churches and their leadership serving communities and families. We pray for the faithfulness of church members and provision for the Gospel to be proclaimed. When local churches are healthy, communities and families flourish. “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” Ephesians 4:11-12
Day 17:
Federal, State, and Local Leadership
May the people of America find their hope in God. We need peace in America and peace comes from knowing Jesus. Please pray for all areas of government in the United States. “...that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” - 1 Timothy 2:2
Day 18:
Donors and Sponsors
Please pray for the provision of financial support received from our donors and sponsors as they give generously to fund our mission. We believe generosity changes lives and pray for their homes and hearts to experience God’s blessings.
Day 19:
Volunteers and Advocates
Please pray for the nearly 500 volunteers who help make this mission possible. Our mission is too big to accomplish alone. We rely on volunteers at our home office and advocates who represent us in their local churches. “There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” - Acts 20:35b
Day 20:
Campaigns and Events
As we represent the mission to others, please join us in prayer for the effectiveness of our campaigns and events. Laugh All Night comedy events, Shoebox Drive campaign, speaking engagements, and missions conferences are all a part of our work here in the States. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
Day 21:
God’s Favor and Wisdom
Together, we first seek the Lord in all we do. We believe prayer matters and we rely on God’s wisdom daily. May His will be done and Thy Kingdom come. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
To God be the glory!
